It features a charming boy in period attire seated between two wicker baskets—a motif originally created by Meissen's celebrated chief modeler, Johann Joachim Kändler. Essentially, Carl Thieme initially worked for Meissen, but his massive success came from branching out to become one of Meissen's biggest independent competitors in the region. Crafted by Carl Thieme of Dresden, this piece bears his distinctive crossed-lines mark, deliberately echoing Meissen's iconic crossed swords to signal quality and heritage to discerning collectors.
