Hand-crafted from earthenware with unglazed facial features and hands rendered in natural buff clay, contrasting beautifully with vibrant sancai-style glazing in deep green and mustard-yellow across the flowing robe. The figure sits with one knee raised, clutching a book—a timeless symbol of wisdom and learning. Dark brown glaze adorns the base and shoes, whilst the face, beard, and hair remain unglazed to showcase the potter's mastery of traditional technique. The hollow form features an open unglazed underside, revealing the pale ceramic body and authentic construction methods of Guangdong's celebrated Shiwan kilns.
