Vintage Historical Pair Of Military Uniform Prints By Wolfgang Tritt

A historical pair of military uniform prints by Wolfgang Tritt (1913–1983), the acclaimed German artist renowned for his meticulous watercolor depictions of Napoleonic and European military uniforms. The first print depicts a mounted officer of the 10th Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own), distinguished by his tall busby hat with striking blue feather plume, ornate braided dolman jacket, red pelisse draped over the left shoulder, and elaborately patterned shabraque saddle blankets. Tritt's signature appears on the lower right. The second print features a mounted officer of the 13th Light Dragoons (later the 13th Hussars) from circa 1840. He wears a tall busby or shako cap topped with a prominent blue-and-white plume, heavily braided dark blue dolman tunic, and a decorative shabraque embellished with royal crown insignia. Both prints are housed in sturdy frames with decorative brass style pattern borders. Each work exemplifies Tritt's scholarly approach to military heraldry and uniform history, capturing the pageantry and precision of early Victorian cavalry regalia.
